Shonda has 15 years of professional retail design experience. At DEI, she is responsible for design concept development and internal team direction through project completion. She is involved in program gathering, ideation of retail concepts, design team review of construction documents, and coordination of retail concepts and interior design with the client.
- 15 years commercially-focused retail interior design for industry leaders such as Lenscrafters, Ethan Allen, Target Optical, Sunglass Hut, Macy’s, and Urban Decay Cosmetics.
Macy’s Various locations
Managed the in-house interior design of the five year, $550MM Macy’s Herald Square (HSQ) Flagship project leading the Children’s floor, HR Offices and Employee Locker and Break Room design solutions as well as Impulse Beauty and vendor installs in cosmetics. Managed and influenced the creative thinking and output of consultant architects, design firms and food/ vendor shops involved in the project.
Urban Decay Various locations
Designed 50 custom “shop in shop” retail locations for the burgeoning brand. Developed the overall store interior design kit of parts concept and custom fixturing solutions for each location.
Lenscrafters Various locations
Designed, coordinated and project managed all aspects of the retail store environment for the new LensCrafters global prototype store of the future.
