Mid-Level Interior Designer

DEI has an immediate need for a mid-level commercial interior designer in our Forest Park, Ohio headquarters working on financial institutions. Our preferred candidate will have 2 years or more of contract experience and the ability to support our project team to create compelling interior environments.ion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and develop design ideas that translate the client’s vision into the built environment

  • Assist the team to produce quality interior design through all project phases

  • Work with the Design Manager to gather project information and conduct client interviews for programming and design presentations

  • Develop client presentation materials for initial, estimating and programmatic phases of development

  • Create detailed furniture and finish specs, install and plan documentation for client approvals

  • Research and manage the selection process for materials, palettes, finishes and furnishings (FF&E)

  • Manage vendor resources while maintaining up to date on design trends


  • BFA in Interior Design or equivalent field of study

  • 2+ years of commercial design experience preferred

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally with departmental personnel, management, contractors, consultants and clients

  • Attentive to details, accuracy and visual aesthetic managing resources, timelines, implementation and quality of product

 Computer Programs:

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • AutoCAD

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • 3-D Visualization: SketchUp

 This position will receive bi-weekly salaried pay, bonus opportunities, and an excellent benefits package.

Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to assist our Project Managers, Site Managers, and Architects in administration and technical direction of our projects. This position is required to understand, communicate and execute customer expectations on each and every project. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, schedule-oriented, detail-oriented, have a great attitude, and be able to work independently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Proficiency at properly preparing and soliciting requests for proposals/bids, including, but not limited to, negotiating and contracting for all divisions of Design Builder’s scope of work.

  • All candidates are required to be skilled at reading and understanding construction drawings/blue prints along with analyzing bids and procuring subcontractor services along with experienced knowledge in addressing and responding to job site questions.  

  • Minor travel may be required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. 

  • 3-5 years applicable experience.

  • Proficiency and knowledge of different Project Management software, as well as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Candidates should be skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing, follow-up skills, and have the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy .
